Understanding the importance of ongoing flooding and related concerns, Commissioner Zembower supported the charge for the Watershed Resiliency Plan for the Lake Harney Basin – often referred to as the Lake Harney Basin Study. Jay implemented a working group that brought together a wide range of local, state and federal agencies. This involved a coordination and communication effort to bring everyone to the table for a that delineated roles, responsibilities and oversight for this critical issue.
Agencies in attendance included the St. Johns River Water Management District, the US Army Corp of Engineers, Seminole County Engineering and Stormwater and the US Geological Survey. Commissioner Zembower has also been communicating with state and federal representatives to keep them apprised of this ongoing effort.
